WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

I built my first van for my family. As a joiner by trade, I poured everything into it – careful craftsmanship, beautiful details, a finish I was proud of. But hitting the road taught me something important: a great campervan needs functional flow and practical storage just as much as it needs good looks.

I put that first van up for sale and it sold immediately. When the next enquiry came in asking if I could build one for them, I didn’t hesitate. Within three months I’d left my job, found a workshop in the Peak District, and Bhode Vans was officially up and running.

How We Build

From day one the question has been simple: how do we make a better van? Better layouts, better storage, better materials. That single focus drives every decision we make – from the first sketch to the final fit-out.

BUILT PROPERLY

Everything is done to regulation – electrics, insulation, gas, safety. We treat every build as a long-term investment, not a quick turnaround. Each van is built to last and finished to a standard we’re genuinely proud of.

We offer Scandi-inspired design and craftsmanship without the price tag of the biggest names in the industry.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE BUILDS

Tristan – mechanic and first-fix specialist. Van conversions, car restorations, and everything in between. He shells the van, installs windows, handles insulation and first-stage electrics. Rarely seen without a biscuit.

Rohan – decorator and prepper. He floats across the workshop, sanding, painting and preparing every surface. Rides his electric bike through the Peak District to work every day. Lives in a wonky caravan.

Darren – our finishing man. Thirty years as a builder, an engineering mind and attention to detail that sets the standard. Handcrafts every unit we make. Races a one-wheel around the UK.

Bryn – founder, designer, electrician, joiner. Runs the business and gets hands-on every day. When he’s not in the workshop he’s out on the MTB trails with his partner Jo and the boys.

WHO WE BUILD FOR

Our clients come to us at a turning point – couples with new freedom, professionals ready to invest in a different way of travelling, solo adventurers who want a van that feels considered and well made. What they share is a desire for something built properly, designed calmly, and finished to last.
